2013 DCA Competitive Season Comes to a Close
Another terrific season has come to a close and I can honestly say that the author of this article has a new outlook. For the first time in a very long time, I had the chance to sit and view a great many of the performances on Saturday and Sunday. The comments that I heard from fans, DCA executives and judges was that the level of competition in both classes of DCA was the highest its ever been. All of the corps came into this weekend and provided the audience with shows that were their best of the season. Some of the corps surprised many because of the amazing level of improvement that they showed; not only from one year to the next but from the beginning of this season to the end.
In the end, the Reading Buccaneers claimed the 2013 DCA Open Class championship, and the White Sabers won their first-ever DCA Class A championship. Congratulations to the Buccaneers and the White Sabers on fantastic finishes while other corps were biting at their heals. Most of all congratulations to the entire field of DCA drum corps for the awesome shows and the spectacular level of competition from top to bottom.
