Jon Lacy brings nearly two decades of experience as a collaborative, student-centered music educator, performer, and arranger to the Reading Buccaneers brass staff. He returns to the Buccaneers in a new capacity as Brass Caption Head, where he looks forward to helping lead and develop the corps’ brass program while continuing its tradition of artistic excellence.
Before joining the Buccaneers’ brass staff last season, Jon most recently served as Brass Caption Head at Jersey Surf. At Eastern York School District in York County, PA, Jon directs the middle school band and is an instructional lead for both the high school marching band and musical theater production. He holds degrees in Jazz Studies and Music Education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Jon lives in Lancaster, PA, where he enjoys time with his three kids, playing Hollow Knight and Zelda video games, and watching anything directed by Michael Schur.

brass caption manager & trumpet music technician
Brand Davis is an experienced trumpet teacher who has worked with numerous prestigious programs across central and southeast Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor's degree in Music Performance from West Chester University and actively performs in the greater Philadelphia area.
His drum corps career began with the Hawthorne Caballeros, where he marched from 2009 to 2012. He returned as a soloist from 2015 to 2018 after performing with The Cadets in 2013 and 2014, completing his time with them as a soloist in 2014.
With over a decade of marching experience, Brand is excited for another year of
drum corps!
Matthew Piatek

A resident of Delaware County, PA, Matt Piatek studied Music Education at Penn State University, where he was a member of numerous Penn State performing ensembles, including Centre Dimensions, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and the Penn State Blue Band.
Matt began his drum corps career in 2003 as a trumpet player with Jersey Surf and continued until 2007. He joined the Phantom Regiment in 2008, remaining there until he aged out in 2011. Since aging out, Matt has been on the educational team for Jersey Surf, Crossmen, Phantom Regiment, and the Reading Buccaneers.
Jackson goslin
Jackson Goslin is excited to return to the Buccaneers in 2027! Jackson was a member of the Buccaneers from 2015 - 2018, and in 2024, and a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard from 2019 - 2021. He started his journey teaching drum corps with the Buccaneers in 2025.
Jackson graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. After spending the first four years of his career teaching elementary music, Jackson is currently the Director of Bands at Pottstown High School in Pottstown, PA.

Brett Haney

Brett Haney received his Bachelor's of Music (Music Education) from West Chester University in 2024. Currently, he is the band director at Avon Grove Middle School in West Grove, PA. Additionally, he serves as the assistant marching band director at Twin Valley High School and is a staff member for the Avon Grove High School marching band.
Brett marched in the Cadets2 Drum and Bugle Corps in 2018 on Baritone and then marched in the Reading Buccaneers in 2019 on Tuba. He is excited to return to the Buccaneers full-time with the brass staff this season!
chase bartholomew
music technician
Chase Bartholomew is excited to join the Reading Buccaneers on the brass staff. His drum corps experience includes performing with Jersey Surf ('12-'16) and the Cadets ('17-'19), as well as joining the instructional teams for Jersey Surf ('24) and Spartans ('26). Beyond drum corps, Chase has taught numerous marching bands throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the Eastern York Marching Knights, where he is currently enjoying his second year on staff.
Chase attended Lebanon Valley College, where he studied trombone and tuba, and earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Audio and Music Production. In order to keep his chops up to snuff, he performs with the Towson Wind Symphony, where he is a member of their trombone section.
In his free time, Chase enjoys spending time with his family, spoiling his cats (Fries and Gandalf), and teaching band.
